Counselling service

Throughout life we experience many hurdles, some may seem impossible and yet we clear them - others appear simple, yet we stumble and fall. It isn't always the hurdle which is the problem but our own perception at that time.

After many years working with men and women who have struggled to become parents for a number of reasons, I have chosen to specialise in pregnancy, child loss and bereavement. This can involve:
  • infertility
  • miscarriage
  • stillbirth
  • abortion
  • ectopic pregnancy
  • neonatal death
  • loss of a young child
In addition, I have particular interest in post/antenatal depression. I recognise the complicated grief experienced through the loss of a child, or inability to conceive: the invisible suffering, the pain of never having known that child, the physical ache, those empty arms, those unfulfilled expectations.

I work with empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. I believe the relationship is the key to success: to feel safe, respected, accepted and really listened to without judgement or criticism.
